A Crazy Idea

I shoot most of the photos for Wine Press Northwest magazine, and while on assignment for them and other freelance clients, I've gotten some cute shots of cats who make their home in and around wineries and vineyards. I've also been impressed with the job that Craig McGill & Susan Elliott have done on their Wine Dogs books, so when I recently wrapped up work on a book project with Braiden Rex-Johnson (Pacific Northwest Wining & Dining: The People, Places, Food, and Drink of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia), I was thinking of ideas for another photo project and came up with Wine Country Cats. Ultimately, I'd like to take enough good photos to turn the project into a book, though the editor of Wine Press, another cat lover, says I'm always welcome to make a photo story for the magazine on the subject if nothing else. For now though, I'm researching which wineries and vineyards in the Northwest have cats and trying to slowly but surely make trips to visit them all. I also wanted a place on the web where people I've told about the project can see how things are going.
